Reginald Tiu, aka “Regie” is the most sought after physical therapist in Sunnyside and has opened his own shop, “Restore Plus.” The Chamber is known for their quarterly Business Card Exchanges where a business new or old can attract people to see their space in the comfortable setting with wine, appetizers and networking. Regie’s exchange on May 19th, at 33-10 Queens Blvd., went so well, that guests stayed beyond the 6-8pm timeframe and we had to throw everyone out to let the custodial staff in!
Reginald was a gracious host and his sister Sharmin assisted with plates of vegetables and dip, fruit, snacks, savory canapes, and beverages. Anthony Lodati of Lowery Wine and Liquors has always generously provided the wine. Wine enthusiast and guest Richard Drake gave it an unexpected thumbs up!
A big thank you goes out to our Board VP and local realtor Dorothy Raymond Morehead, who invited eight new businessespeople she met when she held down the Chamber table at the Queens Chamber Expo the week before. Two asked for membership applications. Something new about this exchange were the youth of many of the new attendees, such as Jin from Webline Designs (to promote Herematch) and Flavio Chauca, and two beautiful young ladies from Hyatt Place, Fiona Yan and ILan Wang.
The friendliest face in the room was Jimmy from Uncle Jimmy’s Pizza, whose pizzeria on 49th Street just off Skillman Avenue draws in customers from both sides of the Boulevard. “I left the task of naming the store to my two nieces and that’s what they named it!” Jimmy laughed.
Nick Gulotta from City Councilman’s Jimmy Van Bramer’s office surprised one guest with ability to speak Tibetan! The always charming Michele Sullivan, a real estate agent from Welcome Home Real Estate attended. “Regie is a great physical therapist,” Michele said. Both president and founder of Sunnyside Artists were there, Manny Gomez and Pat Dorfman, who also raves about Regie’s skill.
The location for an exchange donates a raffle gift, and in this case, Regie donated a free laser pain therapy treatment, one of his most popular treatments. The thrilled winner was new member V. Diane Voicu-Marinescu, an attorney. We hope that Sunnyside is not getting on her nerves! John Tully won the small waterford crystal vulture candle for his wife, “this will prove to her I was at a business event.” Rebecca Barker, a past president of the chamber and the greatest “people person” in town was glad to greet old friends and meet new ones. The Tiu family made everyone there feel like family. Regie’s space is large, bright and welcoming, and he also has a mini gym there, for those who want to sign up for getting into shape after treatment. Regie has a black belt in the martial arts, among his many credentials, but his gentleness and friendliness are what make him the top physical therapist in town!
Thank you, Regie and Sharmin for your hosting of the lovely “party! Restore Plus Physical
